Here are some alternative suggestions that could, but most probably won't be at the next games in 2012. House favourite at the moment is Binocular Soccer purely for it's comedy value.

Street Golf

Played in the street so its a really accessible spectator sport the only thing that's holding the game back is the potential danger of getting struck by the ball.

Extreme Ironing

Completely pointless but great fun, although you should expect that anything you iron to be totally unwearable.

Wife Carrying

Its not all about the strength of the man, but also how the woman rides him. Expect there to be some debate on who receives the medal even though this sounds unfair, just as in Equestrian the rider gets the medal.

Underwater Rugby

Australia are a shoe in for this title, two of our favourite sports Rugby and Swimming mixed together nobody in the world will be able to touch us. Unfortunately its not much of a spectator sport as you can't see who's got the ball or what's going on.

Rock Paper Scissors League

Will it be rock, paper or scissors... Oh the suspense! As you can see this is already big in the US so there's a good chance we could see this in 2012.

Man V's Horse

A great test of skill and endurance the only problem is, if the horse wins no one gets a medal which probably won't go down to well with the IOC.

Cheese Rolling

The Brit's have had this on the sporting calendar for decades so they might have a slight advantage. But hey, how hard can throwing yourself down a steep hill be?

Unicycle Hockey

This could really put Unicycling on the global map, although perhaps it needs a bit more violence to match the Ice and Field versions. Even so the game has potential, we might not see it in London but maybe the games after...

Cup Stacking

This really has to be seen to be believed, as spectator sports go this is up there with Darts or Snooker and is mind bogglingly addictive to watch.

Binocular Soccer

An absolute classic that should be making its debut in London but those do gooders at the IOC have deemed it too dangerous. Maybe we should start a petition, you never know .

  I've seen the cheese rolling and its absolute maddess. Lots of broken limbs and they only win a bit of cheese
