The Dark Knight - Joker

We're you one of the first in Australia to see The Dark Knight? Tell us what you think - brilliant or just plain disturbing?

There's no argument that the new Batman adventure The Dark Knight is action packed from start to finish but it sure isn't an upbeat flick!

The performance by Heath Ledger, is dark, disturbing and brilliant - matched by equally great performances by Maggie Gyllenhaal (love interest Rachel), Christian Bale (Bruce Wayne/Batman) and Aaron Eckhart (Attorney Harvey Dent).

I loved Heath Ledger's performance. His character was acted superb, he portrayed a deranged clown. I found the Joker funny in a psychotic way. Very evil too, it reminded me of 'grown up' version of 'Chucky.'

The plot was interesting and kept me on the edge of my seat, the Joker seemed to be one step ahead of everyone.

I did want to see more action from Batman though. It seemed a bit unrealistic how the Joker could walk out in public and not be shot down though.

Overall I loved it!! It's a must see!

Even if you are not a fan of Batman, you just have to see Heath Ledger as The Joker - an absolute brilliant performance and worthy of a posthumous Oscar.

Action-packed is right - there are no boring bits! And it was dark, but not in a depressing way...just full on =D

definitely more exciting and interesting than the first film, and I liked how they let you inside the Joker's head a little =)

Depending on what films he is up against, I would say Heath has a pretty good chance of a posthumous Oscar - he was quite insane.

Batman's not too bad looking either ^.^

oh yeah, and the explosions and special effects are amazing! Very fun to watch, and there's even little things that make you laugh

all in all, I couldn't think of much to bring it down from a rating of 10, except maybe than Maggie Gyllenhaal wasn't anything special BUT that could have just been down to her script.

    9 and 3/4 ^.^

This movie has just brought back all the reasons why it is such a tragedy that Heath is no longer with us. Dark? Yes, Disturbing? At times, Worth it? Absolutely. I literally could not peel my eyes from the screen...especially for Heath's scenes. I don't think I even blinked whenever Joker was on the screen! Heath definately deserves the posthumus Oscar for his performance. Why? Because he still managed to look so sexy under all that make-up!

    10/10

Excellent movie, love the bat toys and I don't know if it was just the hype that made me focus on Heath Ledger's performance, but I feel that he outshined the bat in the movie, (and the bat was good, as he was in the first), and he is the James Dean of today and sadly left us at the prime of his life leaving us with wanting more of his great acting. Thanks for a great movie Heath! God bless.
