The Falls Music & Arts Festival
Music 30 November, 2009 - 4:25 PM
Situated on a stunning farm, hidden in the Otway rainforest in a place called Lorne is FALLS FESTIVAL. Don’t let the scenery fool you... this is one giant festival filled with epic music, gut twisting comedy and crafts your mind could never imagine. Where do we even begin?
Music
With the festival running a total of four days, you will need to fit a hell of a lot in. From the Yeah Yeah Yeahs to The Paper Scissors, your days and nights will be swamped with amazing artists from across the world. Why not check out Moby from the US? No, he isn’t just the bald bloke Eminem had a biff with. He’s a modern pop music icon producing hit songs since 1991.
If that isn’t your thing, make sure you check out locals Midnight Juggernauts. The trio's electro-pop feel is so psychedelic it will take you out of this world.
Must sees also include Hilltop Hoods, Little Birdy and Wolfmother. International act Jamie T and the Pacemakers will also be at both locations. This guy is a definite must see. Originally from South London, he has been nicknamed by some as ‘one man Arctic Monkey’ - need we say more?
The excitement of FALLS doesn’t end there.
Comedy
That’s right! Comedy! Arj Barker from the US will be making you roll around with laughter as will Steve Hughes, Xavier Michelidis and Tom Ballard.
Arts & Crafts
The Falls Fiesta is without a doubt the best thing both Lorne and Marion Bay have to offer. Whether you choose to dress to theme or not remember to bring your camera and take snaps of all the crazy costumes.
Tip: It may be the middle of summer but make sure you take plenty of warm clothes or you will have icicles hanging from your nostrils at night!
When: Tues 29th Dec - Fri 1st Jan
Where: Lorne, Victoria or Marion Bay, Tasmania
