It's rating in the millions every week yet Channel 10's phenomenon cook off show Masterchef is hiding a dirty little secret.

Ever wondered why the chef stations are so clean by tasting time, yet still look like they have just come outta the pan?

Why Callum's caramel parfait glace dessert in last Tuesday's eppy looked slightly messy before tasting then super professional when presented to Matt, George and Gary?

The answer: Replating.

When quizzed, Exec Producer Margaret Bashfield revealed:

"Due to the duration of the filming process, on rare occasions both the contestant and the celebrity chef in MasterChef's Celebrity Chef Challenge are offered the opportunity to re-plate dishes between the completion of the challenge and the tasting."

Of the obvious replating of Callum's desert, judge Gary Megihan spoke exclusively with Kyle and Jackie O this morning. Listen above.

We love the show but still feel a little cheated.

  I cannot believe the fuss this has caused. Who cares if they "replate" Why do we keep bring programmes which do well down?

  Yes this is a cooking programme, and as long as the contestants have actually cooked it i dont care if its replated or not.

  Get a life everyone, and just enjoy the programme. Stop picking!!!

  This doesn't bother me so much, but I thought it was sh#t how last year, they got rid of Poh, who was one of the best, but then they brought back that other girl. How can they just 'bring someone back' like that? It was not fair and it didn't make any sense.
  It was MUCH more of a scandal than re-plating.

  i think when the taste test elemination is on they should write down the ingredients,the one who gets the least amount should be eliminated that would make it fairer.Apart from that the l really enjoy the show.

  you all can enjoy the show, but they cannot call it a reality show when it is not. It is clear when watching it that is does not matter what they cook or how good it is they kick off who ever they want. i have seen 5 occations where they have eat'n someones food and said it was the best one and them give the top prize to someone else they siad their food was ust ok!!! its not real all organised and madeup!!!!

  Last nights elimination of Marion really sucked.I think the judging by Gary and George left a whole lot of unanswered questions.Feels like they had an agenda behind that elimination.Often when they wanted a contestant eliminated in the past,they always seemed to have the right reasons .wheter be it the presentation or the taste.Aaron is no way better than Marion but its the judges call???What can you say?Disgusting!I will not watch Masterchef anymore.

  The sacking of Marion is digusting and I for one will not watch Master Chef anymore.
  The whole concept of making the whole losing team take part in elimination competition is grossley unfair. The worst peformer or the Team Leader should be the ones up for elimination, not the whole team.
  Why eliminate eli8minate marion who was consistantly the best cook and the most liked competitor when you bring back 3 mediocre cooks when one of them if in the final could produce produce the dish of the day and be crowned the winner!!!
