Emma Bunton (AKA Baby Spice) has finally decided to tie the knot with 11 year boyfriend Jade Jones. Seems like it has been a long time coming for Emma, especially since the couple have a 3 year old son together, Beau and she is expecting her second in May.

Emma seems ecstatic regardless, tweeting on January 23,

 “Yahooooo I’m Engaged! Love you Jade! I’m a very happy lady!!” The above picture of her flashing her bling was included in the tweet.

It’s almost become a trend these days to procreate prior to getting engaged: Owen Wilson & his girlfriend Jade Duell recently had a son Robert Ford, Matthew McConaughey & his girlfriend Camilla Alves now expecting their second child, and interestingly both Natalie Portman & Miranda Kerr announced their respective engagements at almost the same time they confirmed they were both pregnant!

What do you think about this trend? Are men taking longer than ever to get their act together and commit to marriage, or is having a signed piece of paper to prove your love becoming more and more irrelevant?

  I think men are taking longer to get their act together. My man and I have been together for almost 5 years and it doesnt look like I have a ring on the horizon though i am still young for marriage (22) and lots of my friends all around my age have kids (8 girlfriends) either 1 or 2 children in some cases and none are married 2 of those I know are engaged. I dont understand the trend to have kids before marriage. The commitment of marriage shows you want to be with the other person more then a peice of paper and its not just cause you have a child with the other person. Accidents happen but there are preventatives for that.
