Cosi's Lake Eyre Adventure Posted by Cosi 16 July, 2010 - 1:16 PM

So many people living in Adelaide never get to experience the true beauty of South Australia as it lies far beyond the boundary of Gawler or Aldinga... I have always loved the outback and I am at my happiest when the city lights are on my back as I head bush for the weekend

Something very very exciting is currently happening in outback South Australia and the SA Tourism Commission invited me to come and check it out. I jumped at the chance to see Lake Eyre in flood.

We are the driest state in the driest continent on earth yet as my happy snaps will show you there is tonnes of water up north in our state. The Coopers Creek has brought flood waters down through the station country and the blue water has turned our country side green with grass.

I urge all city slickers to consider checking out what this great state has to offer, make the time to head north and see this once in a life time phenomenon which is the flooding of Lake Eyre. Its not until you have seen the sheer size of SA that you will appreciate its rugged beauty.

As my photos show we also traveled over to the Nullabor and flew over the whales, seeing over 30 in fact!!! Other highlights included visiting SA’s smallest town William Creek with only 3 people living there!! And Coober Pedy, Innamincka and Port Augusta.
