Meet the Team - Rhett Biglands
Rhett Biglands - Sports Reporter
I can still remember the nights before exams at Henley High when I was supposed to be studying, but I was showing more moves than a can of worms dancing to the SAFM top 20 countdown on my walkman in my bedroom.
Probably should have studied as I found my first job handing out ice skates, resurfacing the rinks and ski instructing at the legendary Ice Arena Mount Thebarton.
I grew up a Port Magpies supporter until I attended the Crows first official game vs Hawthorn in 91 and I was kicked out of the cheer squad for not waving the pom poms hard enough.
Luckily I kicked 5 goals in my first League game for Woodville West Torrens so Port Power took a punt on me in 97 and then moved to the Crows in 99 where I lasted 134 games.
My first pair of Crows shorts had SAFM on the front (they are a little tight now) and I’m still right behind the station that got me through high school.
Besides my latest radio gig, I'm a Youth Ambassador for Conservation Volunteers Australia and also working as an Ambassador for Can Do for Kids.
