(Photo: FilmMagic)Former Bond bombshell, Halle Berry has foolproof tips to get your diet and exercise on track. The gorgeous Hollywood superstar had to tighten up her eating and exercise habits when she was diagnosed with diabetes in her early twenties. She follows the Fat Flush Plan, which is a low-carb detox diet, that’s very low in sugar.
The plan supports eating plenty of protein-rich lean meats, omega-3-rich foods and lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. Rules of the diet include; eating every 3 hours, avoid all refined sugar, cut out fried foods and never eating after 7pm.
There are three phases of the plan, which are rolled out over a few weeks; phase one only allows for 5000 kilojoules a day, cutting out carbs, caffeine and alcohol. In this stage you can consume plenty of veggies and protein-rich lean meats. Stage two allows carbs to be added, such as brown rice and wholegrain bread, and kilojoules can be increased to 6300 a day. Stage three allows for moderate dairy intake and exercise is introduced to the routine.
Examples of meals you can prepare which stick to the guidelines of this diet:
Breakfast: Two scrambled eggs with spinach, green peppers, spring onions and parsley
Or a fruit smoothie with fresh berries, peaches, whey powder and diet cranberry juice.
Lunch: A large tomato stuffed with tuna and celery
Or a salmon salad
Snacks: A glass of diet cranberry juice
Or a grapefruit
Dinner: Grilled chicken and salad
Wholegrain pasta with tuna and steamed veggies.
Halle checks if her diet is working by jumping into her infamous Bond bikini, "If I can't get into it, I eat less junk," she says.
